My project started with me trying to represent different folktales and myths from the arabic culture like Qareen or Jathoom. it started as dark and serious and more of horror inspired. After further research and studies, I decided to turn it into something funny and mainstream and that is how Another Djinn Bites the Dust was born.

My project explored the pop culture aspect of folktales and the weird hallucination type of dreams you get when you take an afternoon nap where you get chased by a chicken leg holding a fork, or simply by witnessing an eye burning scene in real life.

The art-making process consists of adding pop culture references while playing with different mediums from still images to videos to Gifs.

this project is important to me as I wanted to introduce a small part of my culture through a satire parody lens.
